Leicester Concert 25 February 2011

A rather grey and drizzly day in Leicester was brightened immeasurably by Lee's presence on the stage of the De Montfort Hall. He performed his usual set with the energy and passion we have come to expect, chatting to the audience with warmth, humour and not a little embarrassment when he responded to an audience member calling out "oh yes" by likening her to the Churchill dog ... he continued to dig for a while, but then climbed out very gracefully and the lady in question forgave him!

Lee was again supported by his fabulous band (Louis Riccardi again standing in for Mike on guitar) and it was the last concert for the lovely Laura Wright - I will very much miss her duetting with Lee on More Than Words, the arrangement worked beautifully. We rather enjoyed the band's incidental music when Lee paused to take a drink of water - The Girl from Ipanema making a brief but welcome appearance on the setlist!

My personal highlight was, again, Seven Nation Army - I love this song and the total commitment with which Lee sings it, but Collide was also wonderful, and Close Every Door, and Anthem, and ... well you get the idea!

And finally, the reverse of the flyer (the front of which will appear above when I get near a scanner!), and a few photos ...
